This Privacy Policy explains how warcrimes.us ("warcrimes.us", "we", "us", or "our"), a virtual tabletop service operated by an individual based in the State of Georgia, USA, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy, which works alongside our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, username, and a password (stored only as a securely hashed value — we never see or store your actual password). To support billing we also collect your mailing address and phone number, and you may add a separate billing email. You can view and update this information any time under Settings.
The Service stores the content you make so it's there next session: maps, uploaded images and audio, tokens, character sheets, bestiary entries, journal notes, chat messages, dice rolls, and similar campaign data ("Your Content"). This data lives on the server you play on and is shared with the people at your table as part of normal play.
Like most web services, our servers may log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and troubleshooting. We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (a session token). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data or show ads.
We use your information to: operate and secure the Service; create and manage your account; sync your game data to your table; send essential account emails (such as email verification, password resets, and account notices); meter and bill optional AI usage and paid plans; respond to support requests; and comply with the law.
Some optional features send the text or descriptions you provide to third-party providers to do their work, and the results are returned to your table:
Each third party handles data under its own privacy policy. We share only what's needed for the feature to function, and we don't sell your personal information to anyone.
We share information only: with the third-party providers above to run the Service; with people at your table, as part of normal gameplay; if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service; or in connection with a transfer of the Service. We never sell your personal data.
We keep your account information and Your Content while your account is active. If you delete your account, or a table is deleted, the associated data is removed from the live Service, though residual copies may persist briefly in backups before they age out.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information — passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and secret keys are kept off the public code. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.
The Service is intended for people 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
You can review and update your name, email, billing email, mailing address, and phone under Settings, and you can delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information — email us and we'll honor applicable requests.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
